Previous Bands: New Mills, Thornsett, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Fairfield (Buxton), Ransome

Tim began playing at the age of 6 at New Mills band and under the tutelage of Stuart Roebuck (RNCM / The Halle) and Alan Wycherley.

A year later I moved to Thornsett Band (under Alan Wycherley and later Simon Stonehouse) on 3^rd cornet where in my first experience of contesting we qualified for the National Finals in London and were eventually promoted to and reached finals of the top section.
I then moved to Chapel and later Fairfield Band on Principal Cornet before moving away to University.
During my time at University I tried very hard to give up banding and forget all the lessons etc but was generally bullied into coming back for the staple jobs (Christmas/contests) with Fairfield.
I moved to Ransome in 2006 and following a fairly, ahem, ‘gentle’ weekend of banding in the Isle Of Man joined the band formerly known at BT.
