It’s not always easy to know how to respond if you are concerned that someone is experiencing domestic violence. There are lots of myths and ideas about domestic violence which stop women asking for help and which make it hard to know what to do and say. At Broxtowe Women’s Project we believe that a sensitive and informed response can make all the difference and may even save a woman’s life. This is one reason why we work alongside NDVF to provide FREE domestic violence awareness training throughout the year. The sessions are Modules 1-4 of Notts Domestic Violence Forum training scheme. Modules 1 and 2 explore some of the many questions which people ask such as:
