Other sources of helpNational Women's Aid 24 hour Helpline Run in partnership between Women's Aid and Refuge. Women's Aid Federation of England website Survivors Forum, a new online support service for survivors of domestic abuse was launched on December 10th 2009. Funded by The Body Shop, the forum is the country's first national internet-based forum dedicated to supporting domestic abuse survivors. Through a managed messageboard women survivors will be able to share their stories and experiences, and get help and support from other survivors to cope with the abuse they are or have experienced. A moderator will provide individual professional support and advice. The availability and ease of communicating via an online messageboard will extend assistance to women who are unable to access other forms of support and offers a less intimidating avenue of support. Simply reading about other women's experiences may leave users feeling less isolated and reassured that help is available. Having contact with other survivors may build women's confidence, encouraging them to break their silence and seek help. Download a survivors forum flyer here Women's
