BS5950-1:2000 - Steel Member Capacities - Program on CD
Steel section properties, capacities and resistances to BS5950-1: 2000 is now available as a program on CD, (The First of its Kind) :-
Most of the British Standard Sections are covered such as:- UB, UC, RSJ, PFC, UB Tees, UC Tees, Equal Angles, Unequal Angles, Hot finished and Cold formed CHS, SHS & RHS. Additional and customised sections can be made available by arrangement with CADOSS.
A number of format changes have been made in order to provide easier and faster access and use of the available data.
As with the companion publication Dimensional Section Properties are in millimetre units, gone are those cm's!
This program provides section properties, capacities and resistances on a single member basis.
The output is in the format of a standard calculation sheet that can be incorporated into your own calculation file.
Obtaining essential member information is simple and quick, taking just a matter of seconds for each member.
Member lengths greater than shown in any standard capacity tables can be input.
Interpolation between lengths is unnecessary because any member length can be input into the program in fractions of a metre (e.g. 11.69 etc).
Design examples are provided with the tables, these help to clarify use of the tables and the proper use of BS5950!
Capacities for member slenderness exceeding 200 are shaded in order to flag up this important warning, and capacities for member slenderness greater than 350 are zeroed for additional safety.
