 BS5950-1:2000 - Steel Member Capacities - Program on CD

  • Steel section properties, capacities and resistances to BS5950-1: 2000 is now available as a program on CD, (The First of its Kind) :-
  • Most of the British Standard Sections are covered such as:- UB, UC, RSJ, PFC, UB Tees, UC Tees, Equal Angles, Unequal Angles, Hot finished and Cold formed CHS, SHS & RHS. Additional and customised sections can be made available by arrangement with CADOSS.
  • A number of format changes have been made in order to provide easier and faster access and use of the available data.
  • As with the companion publication Dimensional Section Properties are in millimetre units, gone are those cm's!
  • This program provides section properties, capacities and resistances on a single member basis.
  • The output is in the format of a standard calculation sheet that can be incorporated into your own calculation file.
  • Obtaining essential member information is simple and quick, taking just a matter of seconds for each member.
  • Member lengths greater than shown in any standard capacity tables can be input.
  • Interpolation between lengths is unnecessary because any member length can be input into the program in fractions of a metre (e.g. 11.69 etc).
  • Design examples are provided with the tables, these help to clarify use of the tables and the proper use of BS5950!
  • Capacities for member slenderness exceeding 200 are shaded in order to flag up this important warning, and capacities for member slenderness greater than 350 are zeroed for additional safety.
