About
Bexrose & Membership The Bexleyheath and
District Rose Society was founded in 1960 to promote and further interest in the
Rose through its monthly meetings, newsletter and annual Rose Show. See also,
the article on Bexrose History by our
President Frank Boardman.
We are located at Bexleyheath, Kent, The Garden County of England, UK.
At present the Society
has 456 members, mostly from the local area but we do have members in other
areas of the country and even overseas.
Our Patron is Dr. David Hessayon, the author of the Expert series of handy
gardening books.
The Society is affiliated to the Royal National Rose Society and the Royal
Horticultural Society and is a member of the Kent Federation of Horticultural
Societies.
The current membership fee is 50p per year and may be paid for 4 years at a time
but, no further fee can be paid until the last payment has run out. Our year
starts on 1st January until 31st December.
Our AGM is held in February.
There are 10 Bexrose Bulletins published each year featuring a report on the
monthly lecture, dates and information from the Horticultural world and articles
from members on holidays or other activities, gardening tips etc. If members who
receive their Bulletins by post wish to give us a donation towards the postage
we are most grateful as our postal costs are quite high each month.
We are looking to recruit new younger members in the 30 and upwards age groups.
We are a very friendly Society with lots going on. Come and join us for 1
evening a month, make new friends and learn about every aspect of gardening, not
just Roses.
