Local Attractions

You can find Parc Caerelwan on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, central to some of Wales’ finest visitor attractions. The bustling seaside resort of Barmouth, with its award winning beach, shops and pretty harbour is just 5 miles away. And with a railway connection on our doorstep, you won’t need a car to get out and about.

Further along the coast you will find the must see fairytale Italianate village of Portmeirion and the busy market town of Dolgellau which features a first class fishing centre are also a short drive away.

If you’re the outdoor type, Betws y Coed offers some fantastic walks and mountain bike routes whilst Ffestiniog steam railway in Porthmadog offers a unique steam train experience for all the family to enjoy.

Coed y brenin forest has excellent bike trails, and plenty of local walks up into the challenging Cader Idris hills or an amble along the spectacular Mawddach Estuary, not forgetting Snowdon of course. September offers the Walking festival with levels of local walks.

Being in between the sea and the mountains, we’re lucky to have all of these magical places on the doorstep of Parc Caerelwan.
