St James Ramblers
St James Ramblers have been walking for over 30 years and there are 26 members at present. Our walks are generally in the 5-6 miles range with an average of about 42 walks each year.
In the winter months we generally walk in minor roads, with a pub lunch en route, meeting up at 11am in Mangotsfield Car Park, by the Church.
Summer walks start at 2pm on Saturday afternoons from the same car park motoring up to 25 miles or so to the start of the walk and we take tea. We also intersperse these walks with midweek evening walks of up to 4 miles which are closer to home.
We have a weekend away, generally in July and have been to Pembrokeshire, Exmoor, Dorset and Devon and this year intend on walking into the New Forest.
In October we hold a Ramblers’ Dinner in a local hostelry and reminisce over the walks of the past year.
