Carers Relief Service was started in 1983 by a group of parents and professionals to offer a short break to carers of adults with learning disabilities living at home.
Carers Relief Service is a registered charity managed by a committee of carers, professionals and volunteers. The service currently operates in the Medway, Swale and Maidstone areas.
We work closely with our local social services departments in Medway Council and Kent County Council.
We provide a service to those wishing to purchase care hours using independent living fund (ILF), direct payments or individualised budgets.
In addition, KCC gives financial support to enable us to provide care at no charge for a few hours per week to residents of Swale. All we ask is reimbursement of travel and out of pocket expenses.
Carers Relief Service is registered with the Commission of Social Care Inspection.
We are a charity and welcome any donations to enable us to provide more care. All donations are greatly appreciated.
