The shoot will
be limited to eight rounds; 5 shooters per group, (because of summer holidays)
scored on the same system as the HARC winter league. Cards may be shot early.
No team entries.
Each
card/round may be shot indoors or outdoors. If you are unable to shoot prone,
then the table position (no part of the rifle may touch the table) may be used
in lieu (score cards must be endorsed to this fact). The distance will be 25
yards (or scaled targets for 15 and 20 yards). None service sights are limited
to the open class only.
Each round will consist of: -
10 shots prone Rapid within 2 minutes at a *
‘Cadet & School’ target
(2 shots per bull).

Each detail to start with an unloaded rifle; single loading only, no magazine loading. Only a two-point ‘service’ sling may be used (standard service usage – the trigger mounting point is NOT permitted). No gloves to be used. Points to note. Please use the correct bayonet i.e. 1907 for the classic SMLE’s, the 1888 or 1903 may be used on the Long Lees etc. (I know the SMLE Mark I and Mark II had a 1903 bayonet but lets keep things even. An allowance will be made for those not using bayonets; this will be confirmed after the first four rounds have been shot. Remember spirit of the original. No optic (scoped) riles may be used.
Any person not
having access to all three positions; can take part, please notification me on your
entry form; any adjustment to the handy cap will be confirmed after
round four has been scored. The target must be endorsed showing what position was
used as an alternative. The handy-cap will be based on average scores;
a time limit is already included.
