On the command Load the competitor/RO is to make sure that the hammer is forward. Load with 10 rounds but do not make ready. On the command Watch and Shoot the target will edge. The competitor will adopt a kneeling position, make ready and engage target 1 when it appears with 5 shots. The targets will then edge for 10 seconds, during which time the competitor must adopt a sitting position, and may then take aim while waiting for the target to face. The targets will reappear for a further 10 second exposure, and the competitor will engage target 2 with 5 shots. Note - when changing from kneeling to sitting position, the rifle must either have an empty chamber or a safety catch applied.
Practice 2 &emdash; 25m. 10 shots at the left-hand target. Start standing at 25m. On the command Load and Make Ready the competitor/RO is to make sure that the hammer is forward. Load with 10 rounds and make ready. On the command Watch and shoot the targets will edge for 5 seconds. The targets will then make 5 exposures of 3 seconds with an away time of 7 seconds. Two shots only to be fired at each exposure. The rifle must be returned to the ready position (45 degrees) between exposures. Practice 3 &emdash; 15m. 10 shots at two targets: Start standing at 20m. On the command Load the competitor/RO is to make sure that the hammer is forward. Load with 10 rounds but do not make ready. The rifle will be placed at the trail. On the command Watch out, the targets will edge for 5 seconds, followed by one exposure of 10 seconds. On the appearance of the targets you are required to move to the 15m line, make ready and fire one shot at each target. The targets will then make 4 more exposures of 3 seconds with an away time of 7 seconds. Two shots to be fired at each exposure, one shot on each target. The rifle must be returned to the ready position between exposures. Practice 4 &emdash; 10m; 10shots at two targets. Start standing at 15m. On the command Load the competitor/RO is make sure that the hammer is forward. Load with 10 rounds but do not make ready. The Gallery Rifle will be placed at the trail. On the command Watch out the targets will edge for 5 seconds followed by one exposure of 10 seconds. On the appearance of the targets the competitor will advance to 10 metres, make ready and open fire. Then there will be two more exposures of 5 seconds. The away time will be 7 seconds. Any number of shots may be fired at each exposure but only 5 shots will be counted on each target. The rifle must be returned to the ready position between exposures. No malfunctions will be allowed. You may not move forward with a round in the chamber. NB: If by design the Gallery Rifle is not capable of loading 10 rounds the competitor may load the remaining rounds after they have made ready or during the away times.

68 THE "McQUEEN"
Firearm: Any Sniper / scoped Rifle. Sights: Scoped. Targets: McQueen target. Distance: 200yds. Position: Prone, with a sandbag rest if required or (and) bipod. Course of fire: 10 shots. Two sighting shots will be fired at a special 4 target. Up to 10 practice shots may be fired at this target, but afterwards competitors must report to the range officer at the correct time of his/her competition time. The rifle will be made ready with 10 rounds
The target will make ten appearances of three seconds, with irregular intervals varying between five and twenty seconds. Each appearance of the target (over cover and at loop-holes) will be in a different place, the sequence being varied for each competitor. One shot only to be fired at each appearance. The shots will be spotted. Scorers of 49 must fire again, once only, as an extra tie shoot until a score of 50 has been made. Thereafter, only scorers of 50 will fire again (once only). This is what is called the castle, the targets appear in the holes for three seconds. The target are hand held.
