Dial Dismantle/Rebuild

The dial is disassembled and any parts beyond help are discarded such as worn out enamel dial plates where the figures are unreadable or corroded retainer rings, dial labels that are torn, and the mica cover if it's a repro or very yellowed. Should the spring set be bent or badly distorted this also ends up in the spares bin and a replacement substituted.

The mechanism is cleaned, lubricated and is then re assembled, the stainless steel finger plate is given a polish a new label, original or repro if there wasn't one and a usable or new old stock cover is fitted. The original or new stock connection cord is fitted and the unit is now ready to rejoin the telephone main assembly.
