Maximum traction trucks - The London United Electric Tramways (LUT) Types Y and Z require 18mm wheelbase, Types U, W and X require 16mm wheelbase. LUT kits W, X and Z have been designed to be motorised using the David Voice (ex P.C. Models) maximum traction kits in conjunction with the Under floor adapter kit, both available from David Voice. LUT kits U and Y have been designed to be motorised using the BEC-Kits maximum traction mechanisms. The Manchester 4 wheel cars have been designed to take the BEC-Kits 22mm mechanism whilst the bogie cars have been designed to take the BEC-Kits Manchester maximum traction mechanisms. Other types of mechanisms may be used but may involve modification of the kits to accommodate them.
