Marylebone is an extremely picturesque area to the north west of central London, part of the City of Westminster. The splendid Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian streets evoke eras made familiar by Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

This building on Connaught Street used to reflect the fine architecture of this era, but its stonework was showing signs of deterioration.

C & D carried out restoration works to this residential building in the heart of the West End.

Front Façade
A chemical clean was carried out to the yellow stock brick work on the front of the property preparing for restoration works which include:
  • Restoring the full length of cornice back to its original lines and profiles using a Portland limestone mix
  • Replaced damaged yellow stock bricks
  • 100% re point (weather struck)
  • Rendered all window reveals
Rear
  • 100% re point (weather struck)
  • Insertion of new air vents to specified locations
  • Replaced all damaged yellow stock bricks

Roof
Our craftsmen took down and completely rebuilt two chimney stacks on the roof replacing all chimney pots.
