Colchester Garrison Saddle Club is home to an impressive range of horses and ponies from 11hh to 17.2hh in height, suitable for those who have never ridden before, to the experienced rider. 

We have horses and ponies here that are suitable for complete beginners to participate in our full range of lessons, holiday and weekend clubs and for those more experienced riders who wish to compete in the dressage and show-jumping competitions we hold here every month. 

For the serious rider we have outside trainers come in and hold clinics, and for those ‘happy hackers’ out there we regularly go hacking throughout the summer months.

Lessons
We hold regular group riding lessons from 4pms – 9pm on Tuesday to Friday and 9am – 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.  Our riding lessons are at set times and cater for different ages and abilities.  There will be a maximum of six riders on any one ride.

Private Lessons

You are able to book a 30 or 45 minute private lesson before 4pm from Tuesday to Friday (inclusive of those days) with one of our instructors.  During these lessons you can choose what you would like to work on, whether it be flatwork or jumping, and receive individual tuition from your instructor.  During the school holidays extra time is allocated for private lessons which run alongside our holiday activities. Hacking

Come and explore the beautiful hacking we have on offer at Colchester Garrison Saddle Club with our escorted hacks on predominantly off road rides.  These hacks are at a pace which suits you and can be tailored to your needs. For more information go to the Activities page.
