| Friends of CHAPTER |
At our first fundraising social event in the Long Room at Eaton Park in 2006, our Company Secretary Roy Johnson introduced the idea of 'Friends of CHAPTER' and for a small joining fee, a handful of people became 'Friends of CHAPTER' and since then have been receiving newsletters to keep them up to date. Many of those people who attended the first social event were also present at the one in 2007. This was also very successful, raising over £2,000. However the number of 'Friends' has not grown and we have not realised the benefits we anticipated. We have therefore decided to relaunch 'Friends of CHAPTER', but in doing so, provide more information of how we think 'Friends' can help us and to give you more information, in a newsletter, on the work CHAPTER does. By way of a reminder, or for those of you who may not know, CHAPTER is a local charity which has been operating in Western Cheshire for over 16 years. It works with people who have experienced mental health problems and need help to get back into education or employment, or to regain their confidence and skills. There has been a great deal of publicity recently about the incidence of and impact of mental illness on employment. A number of high profile celebrities have recently 'come out' and shared their experiences. |
