Contemporary Clowning Projects is a partnership between Angela de Castro and Catherine Bewley, set up in 2000 to promote this amazing, delicate, funny, powerful - but often misunderstood and undervalued - art form.
Angela De Castro is a Master Clown, known the world over for her performance and teaching in Clowning. One of the few really well-known women Clowns, clowning is her life's mission.
Contemporary Clowning Projects promotes performance, production and projects by and with Clowns, particularly those working within theatre traditions. A core projects is The Why Not Institute, a unique training and professional development resource for contemporary Clowns; a place that Clowns can come together to discover, learn and be supported outside of performance.
