Company F.Z are innovators in the field of physical comedy, visual theatre and circus. The company was formed in 1998 by Artistic Directors Flick Ferdinando and John Paul Zaccarini.

Throat, created in ’98 and developed over four years, won a Total Theatre award at the Edinburgh Festival ’02. Since 2003 the show has toured in the UK and Internationally and will continue to tour until 2007.

Philomena’s Feast was commissioned by The Circus Space in ‘01. The company then researched Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, leading to a performance Night and Day, commissioned by the Jerwood Foundation, The Circus Space and London Arts. This piece is being further developed in 2006 under the title Spike Islands. Drowning not Waving was commissioned by the Royal National Theatre, Watch This Space Festival in ‘02. In Summer '03 Company F.Z created Elemental, a show for the Chalons Dans la Rue festival, in collaboration with Forkbeard Fantasy and The World Famous.

In 2004/05 F.Z opened and toured Loser. This is the company's second touring show and explores loss and grief; it continues to tour until 2007. In December '04 F.Z presented an 'alternative' Christmas show at Croydon Clocktower (as part of a three year partnership) Who's Afraid of Alfred Hitchcock. This was developed with Croydon College Performance students. This will be followed in December 05 with An Audience With Dracula. In 2006 the company are developing Spike Islands to tour in '06/'07. They are also researching a new show, in collaboration with Jade Theatre Company, due to go into production in Autumn '07/Spring '08.

Under the banner of F.Z Productions they have created performance for the Royal Variety Performance ’02; Rope an aerial duet between JP Zaccarini and Matilda Leyser was seen at Circus Space Cabaret in '04 and at Greenwich Festival in '06; In April '05 the company also presented Cabaret Besame Mucho in London (Croydon & Deptford), followed by performances at The Drill Hall and Watch This Space at RNT. The cabaret will tour in 2006. F.Z Productions also offer corporate training and events.

Flick Ferdinando was the Artistic Advisor to the BA hons Circus at The Circus Space; she is also Artistic Director for mimbre creating Sprung and Trip Tic. She has recently directed for Green Ginger Puppet Theatre, as well as performing with companies such as Peepolykus and for regular variety cabaret.

John Paul Zaccarini choreographs for The Gandini Juggling Project, Cirkus Cirkor in Sweden and Vesturport in Iceland. He has choreographed for The Nobel Prize Ceremonies, worked with DV8 Physical Theatre for two years and was recently nominated for a Circus Fellowship by The Foundation of Arts.
