What is there for the children?

We have groups for all children up to the age of 15. The children go out to their groups after about 20 – 25 minutes. Then they rejoin the adults for the last 10 minutes.

How will I know when to sit or stand?

The person leading the service will make it clear. We usually stand for the singing (it is easier that way!) but if you are not sure then follow everyone else.

Do you have toilets?

Yes – through the back hall, next to the kitchen. You can ask anyone if you feel lost.

What happens after the service?

After our final song and prayer, everyone starts talking. There is tea, coffee, squash and biscuits at the back of church. We would love it if you stayed for a chat. If you would like someone to pray with you, there are usually two or three people available. You don’t have to tell them anything specific if you don’t want to, they will pray for God’s blessing in your life. If you do want to tell them anything it will be treated in the strictest confidence.

If you are new to the church don’t worry. We love it when people visit to see what goes on, and here are some hints.

How long does the service last?

We normally start at around 11 o’clock and finish around 1 o’clock

What happens if I am late?

It will help you to arrive on time as you can choose where to sit and have time to settle down before we start. However if occasionally you don’t make it on time it is nothing to worry about.

What should I wear?

Whatever you are comfortable wearing. Most people dress informally but some from Africa brighten things up with their traditional African dress.

Is there car parking?

Yes. It is possible to park outside church on the Old Kent Road on a Sunday morning.

What books do you use?

The only book we use is the Bible and there is one on every chair. If you are unfamiliar with is we always give out the page number for the passage, which will be explained in the sermon. Otherwise, when you come in you will be handed a card, which has on it the prayers, which we say together. All the words for the songs are projected onto the wall.
