Transformation (1931)

Excerpts from the 1931 movie "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde", starring Fredric March as Jekyll and Hyde. One of the more famous transformations, and the secret of how it was done was not revealed until decades later. A series of rotating filters matching the make-up was used on the lenses, enabling the make-up to be gradually exposed or made invisible, depending upon the scene. The scenes were shot in real time.
