The superb 6-part Jekyll tv-series from the BBC that aired a few months ago was a very stylish way to take the Victorian story and update it to a 2007 setting. It proves that you don't need a big budget transformation to notch up the intensity, when the flick of an eyelid can do the same.

James Nesbitt stars as Tom Jackman, a descendant of Dr. Jekyll, who starts to be plagued by an awakening Hyde. He uses modern technology and science in an attempt to keep his inner lurker under control, and tries to find a way to let his two sides co-habit in his body. Then the plot takes a dramatic turn,and puts a whole new spin on the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
