'I was born in Southampton and lived in Portsmouth up until I was 13. so I'm originally a southerner! My earliest performance was on the pier in Pompey with my mate Neil. We played 'House of the rising sun' [The Animals ] and 'Misery and Help' by the Beatles. I think we came 2nd. I lost touch with Neil for 25years then we hooked up after stumbling over each other on 'Friends Reunited' We've since gigged together and caught up on the years and beers!'
80's rock! Boars Head, Stockport Market Place, Circa 1984. 'Tarracaan' This was a fun band that involved Spandex pants and pixie boots! We were very influenced by early Bon Jovi and Van Halen [ oh, and Miami Vice!]
'I spent 12 years on the road doing pubs, clubs all over the Uk with 'The Avengers' [ lead guitar and vox ]. I Toured abroad a lot with various outfits, and after a two year stint in the Canaries I ended up in Warsaw, Poland! The picture above was my 40th bash with 'The Avengers' and my old mate Neil. It was 27years before when we last played together on that pier!'
'I am very pleased that 'Dirty Weekend' and Rockyoke has come about, its a great band with lots of combined experience which shows through when we perform. Everyone's done it and bought the shirt, so there's no ego's, just a driving ambition to play and present good old fashion 'live' music!'
