What is Connect Christian Counselling Service?

bullet point is a counselling service offering help and support to individuals, couples and families experiencing a range of problems and difficulties.
bullet point aims to provide this within a sustaining relationship in which people can be helped to find their own solutions.
bullet point is not a crisis or advisory service, nor is it a befriending service.

What is counselling?

Who are the counsellors?

Counsellors...

bullet point have undertaken training to Diploma in Counselling level (or equivalent).
bullet point In addition we offer placements to those in the final stages of their Diploma training.
bullet point abide by the Code of Ethics and Practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Association of Christian Counsellors.
bullet point work under regular supervision.
bullet point are practising Christians.

How do I obtain help?

bullet point by writing to the Connect office at the address below.
bullet point the office is staffed from 9.30am to 12.30pm Mondays to Fridays. At all other times there is an answerphone to take your message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

What happens next?

bullet point An appointment will be made for you to have an interview with one of our intake workers who will ask you about your situation and explain the counselling process.
bullet point Should you wish to proceed and we think we can help you, a counsellor will contact you and arrange an appointment.
bullet point You will continue to see your counsellor (usually in regular weekly sessions of 50 minutes) as many times as needed. Family Therapy appointments vary accordingly.
bullet point Confidentiality is strictly maintained throughout the service.

Is there a fee?

bullet point There is no fixed charge for counselling, however Connect is a charity and we rely on regular voluntary donations to meet our costs. Whilst no one is refused help through lack of funds, we ask that you consider a realistic voluntary donation to help towards the continued provision of our service, bearing in mind that it costs Connect £40 to provide each session.
