Presentation

Connect is an organisation who for the last 23 years
have been improving services for disabled children
in St Helens and supporting their families. The award
is a new award similar to the Queens Award for Enterprise
recognising outstanding achievement by groups who
volunteer their own time to enhance or improve the quality
of life and opportunities for individuals or other groups
in the community. The group was nominated for the award
by Cathy Hamer (Children's Centres Co-ordinator) who felt
that Connect demonstrated it provides community
focused activities of a very high quality, has evolved
locally and is locally run and has a proven track record
of active involvement in the community over 23 years.

Trish Almond (Chair) on behalf of Connect says “We are all very proud to have received the Queen's Award. It is wonderful to be given this recognition for all the hard work the charity has done over the past 23 years. We would like to thank all our volunteers, without whom we could not function, for giving their time and energy to supporting Connect. We would also like to thank Connect staff and associated professionals for the continued support and advice. Finally we would like to give recognition and thanks to the partners of the Connect volunteers who by giving us their help and support have allowed us to continue working towards making Connect the successful organisation it has become.
