The Sun Inn is run by Faye Medcalf and Wayne Forster. The Sun Inn offers a fantastic range of home cooked cuisine at competitive prices... Fancy trying something a little bit different? Why not come along and sample one of our wonderful specials. How about goose breast wrapped in bacon with gooseberry sauce, or maybe even South African antelope in red wine and blueberry jus or if you are feeling just a little adventurous why not try the zebra fillet in brandy and stilton. The specials are served from Thursday to Saturday and are changed on a weekly basis.
Tuesday evenings from 5pm until 8.30pm – Full a la carte menu including specials.
Superb a la carte menu changed every three weeks. Choose from a selection of mouth watering fish dishes with starters ranging from fresh mixed oyster and tempura prawns and whole sardines on sun dried tomato focaccia. A selection of fantastic fish dishes for main course currently include fillet of trout with orange kumquat sauce and sauté potatoes and poached cod ragout with mussels and saffron sauce. Tuesday evenings from 8pm - not to be missed LIVE JAZZ hosted by the fantastic Trawden Forest Jazz Band. Wednesday evenings from 5pm - 2 Courses for £6.00 per head. Quality food, great value! Menu changed weekly. Thursday evenings from 5pm - Wine and Dine Steak Night £16.95 per couple includes a FREE bottle of wine. Quiz night starting from 9pm... play your cards right and reveal the joker. Every Sunday from 12pm until 7pm we offer a fabulous Sunday lunch 2 and 3 course special menu from £9.95 per head. Choices currently include sweet beef and sesame seed spring rolls with red onion marmalade for starters and for main course a selection of rib eye of beef, roast loin of pork or roast leg of lamb. If you happen to have a sweet tooth we also offer a selection of homemade desserts including cherry pie and apple crumble. Food is currently served Tuesday through to Friday (5pm–9pm), Saturday (12pm–2pm and 5pm–9pm) and Sunday (12pm– 7pm). In addition to the fantastic food here at the Sun Inn we also have two large function rooms on-site. One offers special facilities which include a licence to submit wedding ceremonies.
