Regional Planning - Regional Policy Guidance for the West Midlands is being reviewed. Among the issues are the "Coventry-Solihull-Warwick High Technology Corridor" (not now called a "triangle"). Solihull Council and Advantage West Midlands (the RDA) claim, without convincing anyone locally, that the area can be developed with "high technology clusters" without affecting policies of restraint and harming the Green Belt. We will continue to argue that, while the RPGs strategy is supposed to be directed at urban regeneration of the conurbation, the affect of the policies for yet more greenfield employment land on its fringe and widening of the M42 will be to cause dispersal and yet more pressure on the Green Belt ...more
