The Crosby Bridge Healthy Living Project, funded by the Big Lottery, is a community led health improvement initiative co-ordinated by  community, voluntary and statutory organisations.

Crosby is one of the most deprived areas in North Lincolnshire. According to health and social statistics, local residents suffer from poor health and social exclusion.

A Health Needs Assessment between 1996 and 1998 identified key issues to address and through further consultation with Crosby residents, these issues have been translated into a number of practical projects:

  • Food and Health (North Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust)
The development of a range of community led activities to address barriers to healthier eating and increase the knowledge and skills of individuals with regard to food and health issues. Projects include Food & Health programmes, community gardening and an on going programme of ‘hands on’ performing and visual art activities.
