Encouraging Men and Women from the Black and Minority Ethnic Communities to engage in physical activity...

Swimming Session

According to the report "Health Survey for England:  the health of minority ethnic groups":
  • Pakistanis and Bangladeshis of both sexes are more than 5 times as likely as the general population to have diabetes.
  • Pakistanis and bangladeshis have rates of heart disease about 60-70% higher than men in the general population.

Shah Mohammed, Seth Mannd Outreach and Development Worker, has organised activities that cater for the religious and cultural needs of the Black and Minority Ethnic communities, which include;

Male swimming sessions

Tuesday's 2.30pm - 3.30pm at John Leggott College

Swimming is a great form of exercise and the benefits to our health are numerous. Exercise is key to weight management, a healthy heart and greater energy levels, and, coupled with a sensible diet, is essential for us all to live a long and healthy life.

Male Indoor Football

Sunday's 3.30pm - 5pm at High Ridge Sports Hall
