Befriending Scheme
Could you spare a few hours a month?
Make a difference to someone's life and become a volunteer befriender.
Crosby Bridge runs a befriending scheme for vulnerable adults with mental health problems in Crosby.
Anyone is encouraged to apply to be a volunteer and we particularly welcome people who have experienced
mental and emotional distress to apply. Training and ongoing support is provided and all volunteer expenses are reimbursed.
For more information about the scheme please telephone Chrissie on (01724) 846611 for an informal
chat or pop in to 195 Frodingham Road.
Positive Wellbeing and Stress Management
Sounds a bit of a mouthful, but the course is easy to follow, held in a safe and relaxed environment,
and is fun: why should being positive be dull and boring?
Stress is something we all have in our lives: we actually need some stress in order to survive
and feel alive, but when it becomes overwhelming, overpowering and we feel we can't cope, then we need to do something about
it.
The course looks at the recognition of stress, what causes stress, and offers some simple tools to
help deal with it.
Underlying all of this is the need for us all to adopt a more positive approach to our mental well-being,
which in turn affects our physical well being. Do you lack confidence and self esteem? Do you 'beat youself up'
emotionally and run yourself down? Do you feel guilty about lots of things?
Yes? Why not invest in some quality time for YOU, and
join the next Positive Wellbeing and Stress Management Programme at the Pop In Pace?
