 Introduction

  • The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) has been introduced to allow those aged twenty-one or over to take a test on a large motorcycle of at least 35kW (46.6bhp). Having passed your test you can ride any capacity motorcycle of your choice.

  • Depending upon your experience you could pass your test in 5 days (Novice) or as little as 3 days. Whichever you choose we can be quite flexible in our approach and can spread the course out to suit your needs.

  • We take care of everything, from bike hire to test booking. You don't need to worry about anything, there are no hidden costs or insurance excess for you to worry about.

In order to complete this course you must first :

Note: The theory test can be taken at any time during the course, but must have been passed before your module 1 (off road) test day.

Course Pre-work

As with most courses it always pays to carry out some course pre-work. We always recommend that students also obtain and read the following books:

  •  The Official Highway Code

  •  The Official DSA Guide to Riding the essential skills’.

These manuals are available from our bookshop and provide the underpinning knowledge and skill that will help you with the practical side of the training. They will also give you confidence and enhance your chances of passing the Practical test. This is especially so if you elect to go for a shorter course.

The content of a typical 5 day (Novice) Course
