Module 2 - On road test

 Introduction

The new module 2 (on road) test follows the old practical on road test but differs in that the 'U' turn and controlled stop have been removed as these elements would have occurred in the module 1 off road test.

 Test Format

  • Before the student takes to the road the examiner will check both his/her documents and his/her eyesight. Please ensure you have all your documents and wear glasses if you need them. You need to be able to read a number plate from 67 feet. (20.5m)
  • This part will be about 57 minutes in length and will consist of the eyesight test, road safety questions and at least 30 minutes of road riding. consisting of a road ride covering a variety of road and traffic conditions and will also include normal stops, hill and angle starts.

During the test you will be expected to carry out a number of manoeuvres over a minimum  of 30 minutes. These will take in such hazards as towns, hills, roundabouts and country lanes etc. You will be expected to ride to the national speed limit and obey the highway code.
