Theory
Test
Introduction
-
Before you can take
your module 1 off road test, you must first take and pass
the motorcycle Theory test. This became compulsory for
everyone in February 2001, regardless of whether you have a
full car licence or not. The only exception is for those who
might want to move up from a Restricted licence to an
Unrestricted licence.
The test
Part 1 – Multiple
Choice element
Part 2 – The Hazard
Perception test
-
The Hazard
perception test consists of fourteen short video clips, each
lasting about 1 minute. Each clip features various types of
hazard that you might come across in everyday driving. Each time
you see a hazard begin to develop that may cause you to take
some form of evasive action, such as braking, then you must
click on your mouse. The earlier you spot the hazard beginning
to develop the more points you will score. You can score a
maximum of five marks per clip. You need at least forty-four out
of a possible seventy-five in order to pass .
Note: Although
there are fourteen clips, there are actually fifteen hazards.
Therefore one clip will contain two hazards, but you will not know
which one
