COMMUNITY CENTRE WINS £2000 AWARD & CELEBRATORY HAND MADE WOODEN PLATE

The Owl & Parrot Café and Nine Carrots Food Cooperative run by the Cyrenians Community Centre have both won the AFAL Award as part of the Food Standard Agency Wales' 2008 Award Scheme. Speaking at the presentation Clare Evans said: "We are delighted to accept this prestigious award and continue to strive to bring healthy living initiatives to the 5th most deprived area in Wales and to a client group who do not normally access health promotions messages. This would not have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of all the staff at the centre, the volunteers and the Nine Carrots Food Cooperative and Owl & Parrot Café together with the support of the local community and partners agencies."
