Video And Audio Encoding to MPeg1& Mpeg2 Standards for DVD & CD

Please supply video masters on Digital Betacam(PAL) or call to discuss other formats.

It is important that the material to be encoded has been properly graded and prepared in the edit suite so that the best results can be obtained when encoding. We can provide a full editing and grading service prior to encoding if required.

We use our on-line edit suite to optimise material as it is encoded. For encoding we run your masters from DVW 500 VTR's in our on-line suite. If necessary the video signal can be routed through our DVE equipment which can help mask errors at the edge or bottom of the video frame that can sometimes be visible on MPEG playback equipment. Waveform and vectorscope monitoring allow precision alignment of the video signal before it is sent to the Encoding suite.

A Soundcraft Delta AVE sound desk allows audio levels to be carefully adjusted and live re-synchronisation of audio is possible using Electronic digital delay. Finally the stereo audio and video monitoring in the Encoding Suite allow final adjustments to be made to the MPEG Stream to obtain the best results depending on the type of moving images involved.

Please edit the sequences to be Encoded so there at least a FIVE SECOND GAP between the end of one sequence and the beginning of the next. Also you MUST supply a start timecode and a stop timecode for each clip. Failure to do this will result in edit suite hire charges for the time taken to check through and log the start and stop timecodes.
