MATA
Mediation Mastery
The
home of Commercial Mediation
Training
MATA - Mediation And Training
Alternatives - was formed in January 2002 by David
Richbell. MATA was built and established as a result of a
vision that David had about the way he believed the
mediation arena should develop and evolve and he wanted
MATA to encompass this vision. Anyone who is involved in or
is touched by any of MATA’s work can be assured that
MATA strives to be
a mediator centred community where we seek to develop and
support our members and to share learning with one another.
Central to MATA's aims is the practice and training of
people in dispute avoidance and in the positive approaches
to conflict. Our Mission is to use and teach more effective
ways to manage and resolve disputes and transform conflict
by practising and demonstrating what we teach so as to
improve the ways in which individuals and organisations
deal with each other. It MATAs to us.
☯
Our purpose ☯
was to create a community-based business, where mediators
can feel that they are a valuable and important part of a
group of kindred spirits that is centred on commercial
mediation, both in practice and in training. Key to making
this philosphy work is the fact that MATA is always
person-driven and concerned primarily with personal
development rather than fuelled by optimizing financial
growth.
☯
Central to MATA's aims ☯
is the practice and training of people in
dispute avoidance and in the positive approaches to
conflict; so that when we are faced with problems that have
escalated into disputes, we are empowered to manage and
resolve the disputes quickly and cost-effectively without
going to court. We aim to reach Mediation Mastery but know
that there is always more to learn and further ways to
develop.
In addition to the founder members, MATA has alliances with
other trainers who have signed up to the founding principles and to the membership conditions to form
a
teaching community that aims for the highest quality of
service and training.
We have a list of current members of the MATA community.
