The tony_curtis_debate 2009 is sponsored by In Place of Strife, The Mediation Chambers and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
The Debates have been running since the winter of 2003 and are named as a tribute to:
Tony Curtis - friend, colleague, mediator, trainer, solicitor, pilot, gliding instructor, oboe player, traveller, Spanish speaker - a man of many talents, died on 11 April 2003 after loosing a battle with cancer.
Tony trained with me on the CEDR course in 1991 and was accredited in 1992. He was a natural and soon became established as a key CEDR panel mediator. He joined the CEDR training faculty in 1993 and was a consultant to the training team following his retirement as managing partner of Machins Solicitors in 1997.
They are the facts, but they do not do justice to the man - a man whose sense of humour, humility, courtesy, and demonstrable concern for others enriched so many lives. Tony was a gentle man, loved and respected, and now missed by all.
