Pinners bridge - Warwick (8 miles, 31 locks)

It was a beautiful morning as we completed the Lapworth flight before breakfast.  The locks are well maintained and easy to operate so we were soon down at Kingswood Junction.

We stopped in the cut between Kingswood and the Grand Union Canal for breakfast and then carried on towards Warwick.

It was busy at Hatton and we shared the locks with a boat that appeared to have no name.  In fact it was quite dishevelled on the outside, but luxurious on the inside.  It belonged to a syndicate of five, and their logic was that the worse state a boat was on the outside, the less likely someone would try to break in or steal it.

We moored three locks from the bottom of Hatton Locks and Robert and Rosemary cleaned Hawksmoor while Jen and I walked into Warwick.  When we got back, I polished the brasswork.  Apparently Robert had already done it, but I failed to spot the evidence.

We spent the rest of the evening watching television and ate the most fantastic beef stew, thanks to Jen and some well matured beef.
