Calcutt Bottom Lock - Stockton Top Marina (2 miles, 0 locks)
We had breakfast before moving off this morning and then completed the final part of our trip at a leisurely pace. We moored just before Bridge 21, convenient for unloading into the car. We took the “End of Holiday” report to the Ownerships office and used their “valet mooring” service, where they organise the re-fuelling and toilet pump-outs in exchange for a blank cheque. Are we trusting or just naive?
We were en-route for home shortly after 10am after a wonderful holiday of 109 miles and 118 locks at an average speed of just under 2 mph. Oh yes, we certainly know how to live life in the fast lane.
