About Us
What is the Council on Disability

The Council on Disability is a voluntary organisation set up and run by volunteers with disability.

We have over twenty years' experience of working with people who have a disability in stirling and district.

We have two main functions:

  1. To provide information and help on specialist disability issues.

This could be about contacting the social work department, accessing the disability benefits, aids and equipment or finding accessible holidays.

  2. To campaign on issues that affect the lives of people with disability.

We have recently completed an independent survey of the users of the NHS wheelchair service within Forth Valley area, and are involved with other organisations in areas such as welfare reform and housing.
