Low Level Turbidity
DIVERSE designed the detailed engineering of the optics and electronics of a particle measurement system based on a patented frequency method. The instrument has been used by a number of major water companies who have used it to locate biological contamination.

Very High Level Turbidity
In some industries, for example paper making, an assessment of the turbidity is required even though the paper sludge is all but opaque. DIVERSE has designed a system, which can undertake this assessment and provide quantitative analysis of the mixture. The system is undergoing trials with several leading chemical companies and is likely to be adopted as a measurement standard for the industry.

Particle Counting
This application was the counting of particles in oil. The techniques included both obsuration and diffraction. DIVERSE has designed optics for this application and advised on electronic and software processing.

PCS2000 Particle Counting System
Developed for the water industry, this particle counting system will do the work of up to sixteen particle counters and a data logger. The modular format makes continuous, on-line particle counting viable and the flow through cell design ensures low cost of ownership

Streaming Potential
A non-optical method that DIVERSE has used is the measurement of streaming potential and streaming current. This relies on the transfer of charge from the moving particles to a charge collector. The method has been used for blood cell analysis and assessment of dense particle mixtures in industry.
