Andy's music books
Scar Tissue from Anthony (Swan) Kiedis from if you dont know already "The Red Hot Chili Peppers".
This
must be one of the best books I've ever read.
I've been a Chili's fan for many years, following them through their different
albums, but didn't realise the roller-coaster ride that this guy has been
on. His early years of childhood, meeting Flea at school and staring in various
Hollywood movies and meeting girls and experimenting with drugs and even nearly
killing himself while jumping off a top of a building to dive into a swimming
pool.
I didn't want to put it down once i started reading it, The love for his family,
the band, girls and drugs and more drugs with plenty of rehab.

Margrave of the Marshes from John Peel
This
book gives you a guided tour through John's life from boy to man. Beloved
by millions - whether for his unstinting championing of musical talent on
Radio 1 or for his wildly popular Radio 4 show "Home Truths" - this
is the astonishing book he began to write before his untimely death in October
2004, completed by the woman who knew him best, his wife Sheila.
With the love of music, he aired unknown bands on the radio which told other
bands it can be done.
He even got the bands into the studio to record - The Peel Sessions

Hey Ho Let's Go - The Ramones
From their 1974 debut at New York's premier punk dive, through the classic albums and blistering live sets, The Ramones cut an unforgettable swath through two decades of pop, setting the scene for punk and hardcore with honed-down songs and ferocious 20 minute sets, but always putting the music first. Seen through the eyes of the people who were there at the time, including musicians, managers, producers, publicists and New York punk scenesters, this book shows the heroic Ramones staying faithful to their own unique musical vision right to the bitter end. This is the softcover edition, updated to include the death of Johnny Ramone.
Gabba Gabba Hey!

Inside out. A personsal history of Pink Floyd by Nick Mason
The paperback will have a brand new chapter on the band's historic decision to re-form after so many years in order to play at the Live8 concert, including Sir Bob's intervention! Plus new, never before seen, photos of the band both onstage and backstage at the concert. One of the most fascinating rock bands ever, Pink Floyd was formed in 1965. After a year in the London 'underground' experimenting with revolutionary techniques like lights which matched their music, they released their first single in 1966. Their breakthrough album, "The Dark Side Of The Moon", was released in 1973 and stayed in the charts until 1982, the longest a record has ever been continuously in the charts, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. In 1975 they released "Wish You Were Here" which reached iconic status, then in 1979 "The Wall" went to number 1 in almost every country in the world. The movie version of "The Wall" starring Bob Geldof was released in 1982, becoming a cult favourite. In the 1980s a rift developed between the band members, which culminated in lawsuits. Only recently have there been reconciliations, which have allowed founder member Nick Mason to write his personal take on the band's history.
