Follow the road into the village from the picnic area car park. The H and J is the first pub on the left. Set back as the road opens out at the top of the hill.

 

The Horse and Jockey is centrally located within the peak national park in the old market town of Tideswell, home of the 15thC church of St. John the Baptist known as the Cathedral of the Peak. With some of the best walking to be found in the UK around Tideswell itself, the start of the Pennine Way is only a few miles away.


The historic market towns of Bakewell & Buxton are only 15 minutes away and the ever popular Chatsworth House,
Castleton Caves, Derwent Dams and Haddon Hall are 20 minutes away.


Tideswell is within easy reach of Chesterfield, Sheffield, Ashbourne, Matlock and
Gullivers Kingdom at Matlock Bath with Meadowhall shopping centre 45 mins away and Alton towers theme park 60 minutes away.
