Shaun McCloskey runs a camp site and hostel on the coast road between Kilcar and Carrick. Follow our signs from Kilcar - stop at telephone kiosk the Camp site and Hostel is to your left.

 

Facilities include:

Full catering kitchen, hot shower, small country shop, laundry, large camping grounds with electric hook up.

Mountain climbing is within 3 miles on the majestic 'Slieve League' and 'Bunglas', the highest overhanging sea cliff in Europe. Camping is a haven for hillwalkers and beginners will love the gentle walks on all or any of Kilcar's many beaches, country roads and nearby hills. Teelin Bay and beach within 5 minute walk. Music nightly in local pubs during the summer season. Convenient to bus service to and from Donegal and Dublin. Phone the camp site for collection from Kilcar or Carrick. When travelling by bus from Donegal or Killybegs ask to be dropped off at 'The Rock Kilcar', less than half km from the camp site, a warm and friendly welcome awaits you.

Kilcar ... gateway to the Donegal Gaeltacht and noted for its Hand woven Tweeds and Traditional knitwear. A visit to Studio Donegal to see the Hand Looms at work is an experience not to be missed. Visitors are made most welcome and along with Tweed Hats and Caps, hand knitted Gloves may be purchased on the premises.
