Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAiT)

 

Course Prerequisites


New CLAiT is suitable for beginners or those recently new to computers, looking to boost their IT confidence. It is an advantage to have access to your own PC but not essential, it is also useful if you have a basic ability with a Mouse and Keyboard.

Units

Word
This covers the basic functions of the popular Microsoft Word product. At the end of the unit you will be able to create and edit letters as well as print and change formatting.

Spreadsheets
Creating formula and simple tables as well and graphs are all covered within this unit

E-Presentation
Using Presentation software to enter, edit and present visual information. Basic formatting and importing tools are covered to give the presentation a more professional feel.

Database
Creating tables, entering record and editing records.  Querying data both simple and complex. Creating summary and other reports of data.

Internet and Email
Using the internet to find and retrieve information and the dangers of surfing. Sending and receiving email and attachments and managing an address book.

Not all units are needed for a full certificate.
