"From the Officer's Desk"

Ecclesiastes 3:1

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the sun.

As Carrie and I plan to move away from Falkirk, we reflect on our time here over the last 5 years. God has been good, and we have some great memories, but there have also been some disappointments. Our mission as the Salvation Army is to save souls, grow saints, and serve suffering humanity. We have seen new faces in our congregation, but we have also been saddenned by people leaving. We have shared the excitment as people discover something of God's plans and gifts for their lives. We have enjoyed some great times in Bible study. And it has been great to be involved in a place where God's people have a heart for serving the community. We have seen hungry people fed, we have seen distressed people find hope, unemployed people finding employment, and people conquering problems associated with alcohol and drugs. Sadly there have also been those who we have been unable to help, and too many in our town continue to suffer from chaotic and destructive lifestyles.. But it is now time for change. I believe the potential for God's kingdom here in Falkirk Salvation Army is huge. May He continue to give wisdom and grace for the future. I believe God has great plans here - our prayers are with you all, and in particular with the new officers Captains Heather and James Elliot and their family.
