Minutes from previous meeting were agreed and signed.
Item 1-Raffle
Emma explained that we made £1002 from the Guys and Dolls raffle. There is a box in the Market Tower full of presents for future raffles. Members of the society to be thanked in the Tower Times.
Caption Competition winner to be announced in the Tower Times.
Item 2- Eurovision Party
Fred to ask his parents about holding the party at their house. Dino to consult Linda to see if she would mind hosting the event.
Decisions about the venue to be made in the next two days.
Fred to organise tickets and then members of the committee to sell them at rehearsals.
Dino to refer back to previous Tower Times to check prices etc.
Item 3-Foundling Day
19th June-need to mark the Birthday of LOS. .
Lucy to ask Andy about possibly having a celebration at 9pm on the Monday evening. Drinks and Birthday cake to be organised-cast members to bring food in the evening to share. Gill to organise the cake.
Event to be advertised in the Tower Times to ensure all members can be involved.
Item 4-Summer Fair
Summer Fair to be held on Saturday 1st July.
Amy is going to call Mick Horscroft about possibly organising a band for that day.
Stall ideas:
Face Painting
Books
Tombola-ask Chris Peck-members to be asked to provide prizes.
Cake stool and fresh produce-Dino to put request in the Tower Times.
Herbs and vegetables.
Toy Stall-quality second hand toys.
Guess how many sweets there are in the jar.
Hook a bottle
Straw Pulling
Questioning whether you need an licence to sell alcohol-Gill to ask Chris
Amy to ask Cath to help with refreshments.
Item 5- Societies Day
8th July
Committee members to man the stall throughout the day-a timetable to be constructed to organise time slots.
Item 6- Dinner Dance
Lucy reported back about holding the dance at Pelham House.
Cost is roughly £29.50 per person.
7.00pm -7.30pm start.
Includes room hire and drink on arrival
3 courses
Allowed a bar in the room
Friday 1st or the 8th of December
Lucy to check availability and book for 60 to 80 people.
Emma and Lucy are to manage administrating the money from members once tickets start to be sold.
All the details about the dance to be given to Dino so that he can place them in the Tower Times.
Item 7-Future Events
Baxter?s Field-games in the field. Members to bring own picnic.
28th August 2006 (Noon onwards)
Dino to check with Fran Whittle to see if the field is available.
Quiz Night-Friday 20th October-Fish and Chip Supper.
