SyncUs Screens Walkthrough
The following sequence of screenshots and narrative describes the SyncUs screens.
First of all the SyncUs displays the Splash screen as it starts up. If SyncUs is registered and is loading data for the registered user then the text will show “Registered to ….” Otherwise it will show “Demo Version”

If SyncUs has not been run before then the following message will be displayed next…

followed by the Configure Users screen…

The first entry for the Configure Users screen needs to be the Base Directory. This needs to point to the directory which contains the installation of the Palm Desktop. This is often
“C\:Program Files\Palm”, but can be other locations too. This directory must contain the file “users.dat” otherwise a message similar to the following will appear:

Once the valid Base Directory has been found the User Name field will then show a list of users defined in the Palm Desktop. On choosing a User Name the User Directory field is automatically populated. Set the Base Directory and User Name for “First User” and “Second User” and the screen should appear similar to…

Upon selecting the User Name SyncUs reads in data for that user. If the following message appears

then this is a reminder that the unregistered version of SyncUs can only be used for a limited number of records. To continue, either use a different User (with not so many records) or register SyncUs by purchasing at Palmgear, Handango or sending a cheque directly to Tim Franklin.
Once the OK button is clicked on the Configure Users screen the main SyncUs screen appears:

SyncUs options are defined on the Configure screen:

This last screen is where the Registration Code (key) should be entered. This is created based on the value of your Palm user name. SyncUs will show as “Registered”, provided that one of the SyncUs Users is pointing to the Palm User Name which was used as the basis for the Registration Code.
