Direct Access
Direct Access provides
support for adults with problematic substance misuse issues. Individuals
can self refer to Direct Access or be referred by another agency. The
outreach service provides support and structured interventions for
adults experiencing problems relating to their drug use according to
individual needs, including referral to other relevant support agencies.
Since November 2006, a
Direct Access worker has been available at the Friary once a week. This
session takes place on a Monday morning.
Direct Access provides
confidential one to one support in the form of:
-
Assessment
-
Care planning
-
Harm minimisation
-
Safer injecting advice
-
Structured
interventions (Pre-detox, Stimulant Programme,
Relapse Prevention, Cannabis Programme)
-
Referral to other
agencies.
The sessions consist of
drop-in and arranged appointments. Approximately 100 appointments
were attended between
November 2006 and April 2007. |
