Homeless Health Team

The Homeless Health Team continues to provide a drop-in health clinic at the Friary Drop-In centre on Monday mornings from 10.30 am to 11.30 am.  Celia Abbot previously covered this clinic over a number of years. Unfortunately, Celia has now left the team and the nurses in the team now cover the session jointly.

In May 2007 we employed Laura Garner, Harm Reduction Nurse specialist, who covers some of these sessions and can also provide information and advice on blood borne virus testing and vaccinations.

Lyn Kicks, Nurse Specialist, joined the team as of March 2008 and is working full time in the team alongside myself.

The health care drop-in at Friary Drop-In remains a well used service and provides valuable access to health care for individuals who are homeless or vulnerably housed.

The team are happy to be involved with the work of Friary Drop-In and hope to continue to be a part of this holistic service.
