Tenancy Support Friary Drop-In
offers a wonderful drop-in service three times a week, with a wide range
of services such as a crèche, a GP, drug and alcohol workers and even an
allotment to grow veggies on! But, did you also know that we offer an
on-going Tenancy Support service?
This is an one-to-one
support service offered to visitors to the Friary who have just gained
their first tenancy or are struggling to maintain an existing tenancy.
Our team of Penny and Asher (and, currently, a
vacancy) provide support to just over 30 tenants in their own
homes, helping them to address such issues as rent arrears, drug and
alcohol addiction, setting up utilities, benefit advice, budgeting plans
and often general befriending to people who are often, for many reasons,
excluded from society.
Because many of the
visitors to the Friary Drop-In are often unable to interact socially,
have mental health problems, learning disabilities or just lack (or have
lost) the coping mechanisms of everyday living, the Tenancy Support team
is able to step in and provide support for a short period of time to
solve immediate problems, or for up to two years to give people an
opportunity to build good foundations to enable them to move forward in
their lives.

years support from the Tenancy workers – I’ve been helped by Friary, on
and off, for over 16 years or more. Friary has changed my whole outlook
for the better. A million thank yous”. |
