Diploma in Transgender Studies

Key advantages of GAB Online College.

The GAB Online College is sponsored by the Gender Advisory Bureau Ltd who have been delivering quality training around transgender issues and relevent legislation since 2004.

If your service is unable to book in-house training, you can still equip yourself professionally with Transgender Training by enrolling to complete the Diploma in Transgender Studies.

The Diploma in Transgender Studies is only available from the GAB Online College and is believed to be a 'first' of its kind' in the UK

The course is studied at your own pace in your own time and everything you need to complete the course is contained in the course pack.

What does the Course Cover?

The home study diploma course has 9 modules covering areas of study such as:

Gender Specific Counselling

UK legislation and trans persons

Transsexualism - Female to Male/Male to Female/Young People and Transsexualism

Transgender and its many meanings

SRS - Sex Reassignment; an overview of what this involves

Hate Crime

Other associated topics including sexual orientation and trans

How long does it take to complete the course?

This depends upon the ability of the student and time available to study. We do however estimate that for the average student, the course we take approximately 40 hours to complete.

What do I need to study the course ?

Previous transgender awareness training is not essential, you will however need access to the internet to complete some of the research involved. You can complete the modules by hand or on a computer and submit them electronically.

How much does the Diploma in Transgender Studies cost?

The course costs £180.00. This includes the cost of your course reference book

Assessment Structure

There are five sections to the overall assessment and the optional thesis. You will be awarded a mark out of 20 for each section adding up to a total not exceeding 120.

100  - 120 A+ Distinction
90 - 100 A+
70 - 90 A
50 - 70 B
30 - 50 C

A score of below 30 would indicate that the student has not grasped the necessary content of the Course.

The student will be given the opportunity to resubmit the assessments based on learning points provided to them on the specific areas that need readdressing.
